US President , "Barack Obama", signed, on Friday, a decision to impose new sanctions against Russia, against the background of its position on the crisis in Ukraine, and provide arms and other assistance to the Ukrainian government.

He said the US president, in a statement after the signing, that the US administration does not intend to apply the sanctions at this time to Russia, pointing out that the signature on this decision does not mean the application of sanctions now, he said.

Obama explained that «the US administration will continue to work closely with European allies and partners, and at the international level to respond to the developments in Ukraine, and will continue to review the sanctions to respond to acts of Russia».

US President renewed appeal to Moscow «Minsk implementation agreements, and the cease-fire between the parties to the conflict in south-eastern Ukraine, abandoning annexation of the Crimea and to stop supporting separatists».

It should be noted that the Republicans and Democrats in the US Congress, they are putting pressure on Obama for a while in order to sign the resolution.

This gives the resolution, the US administration the right to supply Ukraine, lethal and non-lethal, such as anti-aircraft, artillery, radar, and unmanned reconnaissance aircraft.
